2018 Audi RS5 Price

The next-generation Audi RS5 coupe has been spied once again. This time, though, the prototype is wearing more production-ready components and less disguise.

When we got a new batch of spy shots of the A5 just weeks before the car’s official debut, we were at a bit of a loss. After closer inspection, though, we realized that these spy shots may very well be of the next generation RS5. Now that the A5 and S5 have made their debut, the next shots of the RS5 test mule should shed a significant amount of camo. By that point, we should be looking at a real body with fewer deceptions. Considering there wasn’t an RS5 for the 2016 model year, we’re really looking forward to seeing the new RS5 in the metal.

2018 Audi RS5 Release Date

While the fascia looks similar to that of the model that was caught testing back in May, you’ll notice that the radiator grille is no properly defined in Audi fashion while the corner air intakes have been refined to match. Neither the air intakes or the grille sport the proper mesh quite yet, but the Audi emblem is no prominently displayed just below the hood. With the correct fascia and fenders in tow, the RS5 is pretty close to being production ready. It’s not likely that we’ll see it in Paris later this month, but the Geneva Auto Show next March is easily a possibility for its debut.

2018 Audi RS5 Interior

Audi’s next RS5 coupe will also be underpinned by the MLB Evo platform. This exercise resulted in a significant weight reduction when it formed the basis of the latest A4 and A5 models, so anticipate the same outcome with the RS5 coupe which will lead to enhanced performance. It is speculated that the new RS 5 coupe could be showcased at some motor show in 2017, before rolling into showrooms in the international markets by the first half of 2018.

As for the reveal date, nothing is certain at this point, but if we don’t see it in LA or Detroit, then it should make it to the 2017 Geneva Motor Show.

2018 Audi RS5 Specs

Below we have summarized some of the reviews about the features of the car exterior and interior 2018 Audi RS5. The car is expected to be a comfortable car for the ride by the community.

Now that the next-gen Audi A5 has debuted, we’ve created a rendering of the RS5 coupe that should give a pretty decent representation of what the RS5 coupe will look like when it makes its debut in the future. Compared to the standard A5, the new RS5 Coupe will feature the same hood with the muscular character lines and the same headlights. The grille will remain the same shape, but will feature the “quattro” lettering at the bottom to go with the RS5 emblem on the left side. The corner air intakes will likely have the same shape, but may be a bit larger and will feature a large vertical louver to the outside. The lower lip of the fascia will remain, but we expect the RS5 coupe to feature a small support to either side, and it will take on a black finish.

The wood or aluminum inlays from the A5 will likely be replaced by clear-finished carbon fiber you know, the normal RS5 treatment. The standard steering wheel will be replaced by a sporty, flat-bottom unit. As it normally goes, the RS5 will be pretty much fully loaded minus add-ons like the MMI navigation plus system and the Driver’s package, which both breathe a little more visual life into the range-topping model. All of the standard features like LED lighting, Bluetooth connectivity, USB power ports, inductive phone charging, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system will carry over to the RS5.

2018 Audi RS5 Engine

We’re expecting the RS5 to use the same engine that will be in the RS4. That should be a 3.0-liter, turbocharged V-6 that pushes somewhere between 450 and 470 horsepower. Of course, the new RS5 will also be lighter, so expect improvements in 0-to-60 times, quarter-mile times, and top speed to improve.

Under the bonnet, the new RS5 is rumoured to ditch the outgoing car’s 331kW/430Nm 4.2-litre V8 in favour of a twin-turbo version of the 3.0-litre V6 currently fitted to the S4 and S5. The new RS5 is said to have between 335 and 350 kilowatts at its disposal.

Without any doubt, the most important change will occur underneath the hood where the sweet-sounding naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 is going to be retired to make room in the engine bay for a brand new biturbo 2.9-liter V6.
